YRMTA Young Composer’s Competition

Calling Young Composers!

If you were preparing a composition for Rotary Music Festival, or if you currently have a composition in the works, there is still a forum to show it off!
The YRMTA Young Composer’s Competition is open to students 19 years of age and under, currently studying music with a teacher who is a member of the YRMTA.

To enter, submit an electronic copy of the music to Andrea McColeman  by May 8th. If possible please also send a recording – a phone voice memo quality or midi recording is fine. If the piece is over 3 pages long a recording is required.

Please also include your your name, age, and the name of your teacher as well as your (or your parents) phone number and e-mail. You may also include a short paragraph talking about your piece or a picture that tells the story of the music.

Pieces will be adjudicated by Canadian composer Christine Donkin and the winners announced May 22.

The winners will be eligible to enter the Canada-wide CFMTA  Student Composer Competition

Any questions feel free to contact Andrea McColeman or send a note on the YRMTA Contact page.
